What's safe about your bones and treats compared to other brands?

question icon

All of our dog bones and treats are 100% natural and come from angus cattle (with the exception of our single pork bone, the Ruby, which is still 100% natural). Each and every bone is hand trimmed. Our treats, too, are simply the beef product with no additives. We slow roast for 30 hours in one of our 14 ovens with no additives and no preservatives—unlike the large quantities of bones, treats, and jerky that arrive from across our seas and borders. Learn more about our safety.

Do your bones splinter? What if my dog is a heavy chewer?

question icon

If your dog is a "heavy chewer" there is the potential that no real bone will be durable enough to withstand your dog's jaw strength. Being that bone is organic material, it can break down. And depending on the dog, it will break down. We must rely on our pup parents (that's you!) to be sensible in selecting products for your dog(s).

What ingredients are in your bones and treats?

question icon

Our bones come from young cattle no more than 29 months old, meaning the bones are fresh and strong. Each bone is slow cooked and sprayed with a light mist of human grade au jus liquid smoke to bake in our irresistible taste. Our jerky treats are a single ingredient—simply the beef only. Our products never contain byproducts or filler: no wheat, corn, soy, or other added ingredients.

Should I monitor my dog when giving a bone or treat?

question icon

Absolutely. It is the pet owner's responsibility to monitor his or her pet(s) whenever giving a bone or treat. Dogs should never be left unattended with bones or treats. If your dog is younger, or new to bones and treats, start off with a short 5 minute session to see how the pet's body reacts to the product. Because both are high in protein, as with any animal new to a product, your young dog's stomach enzymes need time to adjust to the new material.

What if my dog gets sick?

question icon

We never want to hear that one of our products doesn't agree with your pup, but sometimes this happens. Why? Simply put, some dogs and bones or treats—just like some humans and "human food" choices—don't agree with their system. If your dog feels unwell, be sure to provide plenty of water and discontinue use of the product. Also, be sure you aren't "over feeding" your dog!

What safety measures are in place?

question icon

All products are certified annually under the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), the benchmark for the best food safety and quality practices consistent with meeting human food grade standards. All products are also tested to ensure no contamination from microbial proliferation. Read more about our safety standards here.
